In addition to growing up in a family
of artisans, Margaret Reynard has studied under various artists
in both Ohio and Pennsylvania. Her works often reflect the influences
of Neo-Plastic Abstractionists such as Piet Mondrian and Abstract
Expressionists such as Wassily Kadinsy.
As an acrylic
artist, her choice of medium allows her natural curiosity about
life to be expressed through simplified forms and bold colors. Interestingly,
her use of geometric forms seems at times to contradict her committment
to expressionism, which also adds to the uniqueness of these abstract
art creations. A single work takes weeks to complete.
Margaret
M. Reynard - Life Story
Malgorzata Maria Wieczorek was born December 13, 1956 in Poznan,
Poland. Her mother, Stefania Englehardt, was an English translator
and her father, Wilhelm Zygfryd Wieczorek, was an artist.
"Meg" as she is known to her friends and colleagues comes from
a long family line of artisans. She emigrated to America through
New York Harbor on May 5, 1961. Learning English quickly, she was
recognized as possessing a gifted mind and was transferred from
her Bowling Green High School in Ohio into a special program of
advanced study.
In
1979, she graduated from Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio
with a Bachelors of Arts in Biology. Her works often reflect her
biologic background. She married Jon Reynard in March of 1980. They
have two daughters and make their home in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.
Meg's Career
Margaret Reynard came out as an artist at the 2003 Ocean Grove
Boardwalk Art Show and Sale in Ocean Grove, New Jersey. The encouragement
and acceptance of her unique works provided the catalyst to launch
her career as a working artist. Meg continues to create large acrylics
for homes and offices.
